A history of The Alfred Burns Service
The Victorian Adult Burns Service (VABS) at The Alfred hospital is the statewide provider of burns care for all adults with complex major burn injuries in Victoria, as well as many people with less severe burns. The devastating Ash Wednesday bush fires were the catalyst for the establishment of the pioneering burns unit at The Alfred.
